4pm Mike Shoup: “Empress of the Garden” Mike will introduce his new book, Empress of the Garden which outlines the various personalities each rose exhibits.

Brenham Holiday Home Tours

Brenham’s holiday home tour and trunk show, held the weekend before Thanksgiving, is our way of welcoming you into the holiday season!  For the Home Tour, the 1870 Giddings Stone Mansion, the 1843 Giddings Wilkin house, and homes of historic or architectural note are beautifully decorated for Christmas, hosted by Heritage Belles in period dress, and open to the public.

Now’s the time to plan your trip for the Fall for Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival!

Book your room at the B&B because the straw-filled funny faces topping floppy bodies announce it’s time for the  Annual Scarecrow Festival, second weekend in October,  in the quaint, historic town of Chappell Hill. The Scarecrow Festival boasts more than 300 juried exhibitors offering home accents, holiday items, clothing, jewelry and so much more. Enjoy the live entertainment and music lining the streets of Chappell Hill. Delight in the magical land of scarecrows with a charming pumpkin patch and a special Children’s Activity Corner which provides pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, barrel train rides and more. You won’t go hungry either. Sample the many booths featuring delicious country-style food. It’s hearty and filling, perfect for an autumn day. Festival hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission to the festival is free; parking is $5 and no street parking is allowed. Texas Spring Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill

April 14 & 15 are the official Bluebonnet Festival dates for 2012!

The Festivals boasts more than 250 juried exhibitors (home décor, gardening, artists, craftsmen, jewelry, clothing, etc.), delicious country-style food, live entertainment and music, and tours of the historic community. A special Children’s Activity Corner provides pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, barrel train and more. A special Wildflower Photo exhibit will be on display at the Chappell Hill Museum Exhibit Gallery during April and May. The Bluebonnet Festival was declared the “Official Bluebonnet Festival of Texas” by the Texas Legislature and was voted #7 as Most Popular Festival in Texas by Texas Highways. Admission is free to the festival and museum. Convenient parking for cars, buses and handicapped persons is available.
