March 13th, 2014 by Pamela Murski

Texas wineries are ever increasing and Brenham has it’s share of really great wineries  to visit during  your stay at Murski  Homestead Bed and  Breakfast.  There are three Texas wineries all within 15 minutes of the  our Texas Bed and Breakfast.  These three Texas wineries are located  on the Bluebonnet Wine Trail, a meandering trail that  includes 10 different wineries, all of which  are drivable  and tourable during  a weekend stay with us a the ranch in Brenham, Texas.  Below is  a sampling  of  some of the great Texas wineries on our  Bluebonnet Wine Trail  and near Brenham.

The first winery  which  is just north  of  the B&B is Windy Winery.  This Texas winery is known for  the fact that  the  grapes used in  their wine making  all  come  from  the  great state of Texas.  Owners/vintners, Linda and Augie Mientzen are the most delightful  vintners you will come  across while  touring  and tasting on the  trail.  Of German descent, they hold  true to their heritage and the German  wine making  process.  They thoroughly  love  what they do  and sharing that love  with those who come into their wine shop.  You can take a tour, enjoy a variety of festivals/events, partake  in numerous wine/dinner pairings offered  throughout the  year, sip and savor a personal tasting  of their wines while  on  premise and of  course,  join their  wine  club for monthly deliveries of their delicious wine and advance notice of events!
