Round Top Antiques Fairs

Round Top Antiques Fairs

Chappell Hill and Brenham are just a few miles apart and both on the track to the Round Top Antiques Fairs!  These antique fairs are hosted every year, twice a year.  First in  the Fall from late September to beginning October and then again  in the Spring, from late March to early April.  Though here at the  ranch  it is a very busy time for us hosting and taking special care of our guests, we always try to get in at least a little shopping time at the fairs ourselves.

However, on those  rare occasions that  we can’t get out to the  Round Top Antique Fairs for our “fix”, we know we can always be inspired and live figuratively through the eyes and blog of Tikka, a lady from our are who frequents the Round Top Antiques Fairs for days on end each season.  Even if you can get away and still come up, her blog is worth looking at for inspiration,  some great picks of what’s to find, and what to  check out while preparing your Round Top Antique Fairs shopping plan.  Book your room with us and double your pleasure during the Fairs!

Texas Antiques & Phenomenal Antiques Shows

Spurs...

The Round Top Antiques Fairs & Marburger Farms Antiques Shows are the end of September to first weekend in October and again the end of March into the first weekend in April…EVERY YEAR!!  Book your room today and starting  your shopping list!  The following is what it was like in 2011…….thankfully, 2012 was not as hot or dry!

“Marburger Farm has done it again. The twice yearly mega-show in Round Top, Texas has overcome hurricanes, wars, recessions and more. This Sept. 27–Oct. 1, the prospects included all of those, plus the tail end of the driest, hottest Texas summer in decades. But the not-so-little show that could pulled off a winner again.

After two hot days, about noon on Thursday, a clap of thunder sounded. “In our tent,” said Patrick Kenny of upstate NY’s South Porch Antiques,

The famous Round Top Antiques Fairs have done it again.  Below is an excellent article which will whet your appetite in anticipation of the Spring Shows!  Be sure to book  your room now as they disappear fast…..

Texas-Sized Antiques Fare At Original Round Top Fair

By Tom O’Hara:  “The Original Round Top Texas Antiques Fair, hosted by Susan and Bo Franks September 28–October 1, saw more than 250 exhibiting dealers offering antiques and collectibles from the earliest American styles through Biedermeier from Europe, lacquered furniture from Asia and even some of the later industrial fashions for the home and workplace.

Begun as a venue for American country-style antiques in “The Big Red Barn,” the show has expanded over the last five years with the addition of the air-conditioned marquee Continental Tent and the Big Red Barn Tent to allow for expanded inventories and styles, including many dealers that specialize in Continental, industrial and even some later Nineteenth Century styles. Carmine Dance Hall, located just over the hill, also offered air-conditioned space as part of this show……”

The next edition of the show will be April 4–8. For more information, 512-237-4747 or www.RoundTopTexasAntiques.com .

Round Top Antiques Fairs

Round Top  this past Spring was great, as always and we are getting geared up for the Fall  shows!  We came home with a neat wrought iron cross sconce for the elopement gazebo, a beautiful piece of stained glass circa 1880 and a early 1900′s drop leaf table!  Be sure to put this semi annual antiques venue, which is the second largest in the nation, on your calendar as a “to do” item some time in your life.  We have the perfect place for you to come back to for a great nights sleep and delicious breakfast to fill  you up each  day before you head out on your shopping and bargaining excursion of a lifetime!

Check out this video from Channel 13 for a taste of what’s in store:
