Downtown Brenham’s Christmas Stroll & Lighted Parade

November 6th, 2012 by Pamela Murski

The Holidays in a Small Town

Brenham is that perfect small town atmosphere at Christmas!   We decorate downtown with thousands of lights to greet you as soon as you turn the corner and on one special night of the year we keep our doors open late, greeting people with smiles, hot cider, and homemade goodies.

At 6pm we line the streets to watch our festive lighted parade complete with music, kids, horses, and Santa! Afterward we mingle in the streets, tour the Gingerbread Houses, enjoy live entertainment & dance,  listen to the tuba band play Christmas carols, and peruse through all the many shops – you’re sure to find something special for that someone special! Santa hangs out all evening at Hermann’s Furniture Co to take pictures with the little ones.

Location: Downtown Brenham, TX, 979-337-7247

Time: Nov 30, 5-10pm

December 6th, 2011 by Pamela Murski

How to make a house smell like home over the holidays!!!  This is a tried and true recipe we rely on at the B&B during the holidays…..the smell makes everyone happy!  There is nothing better than holiday simmer on the stove, Christmas music playing on the ipod, good red wine flowing, crackers and dips in festive plates and the company of family and friends!

Holiday Simmer

3 cinnamon sticks
3 bay leaves
1/4 cup whole cloves
1 teaspoon ground cloves
2 lemon slices
2 tablespoons orange peel
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 quart water

Mix all ingredients in medium saucepan. Simmer on low heat. Add water as needed throughout the day. I leave the same batch on the stove for a few days!
