antique horseYou can find antiques in Brenham TX in a variety of shops and stops, in every conceivable venue from store fronts to cool metal warehouses!  Our first favorite antique haunt in Brenham is Leftovers where one of their slogans is:  “Shop  the European countryside deep in the heart of Texas”.  This 10,000 square foot retail space is a mixture of fabulous American and European country antiques, where pieces are often repurposed to find new life and to fit the needs of everyone from young families to seasoned collectors. Several times annually, Ed and Michael shop extensively around the world in order to offer loyal customers a unique mix of antiques, apothecary, epicurean, bedding, gardening supplies and clothing.  Located at 3900 Hwy 290 West in Brenham, TX, the shop is open 7 days a week.  Throughout the year, Leftovers offers special events including live jazz music, free food/drinks while you browse and famous authors book signings.

Next stop is gonna be in downtown for more antiques in Brenham TX.  Some of our favorite stops in downtown include but are not limited to the following:

Hermann’s Furniture Store, located at 213 West Alamo Street since 1876, it is open 6 days a week.  Not only is this historic store a great little fun furniture store, it also houses an antique co-op where you never know  what you might find as the vendors are continually changing out their stock as signified in one of their slogan:  “There’s always a new reason to visit!”

The next little stop on  your  hunt for antiques in Brenham TX, you’ll want to pop in to Bluebird Off The Square Antiques & Accessories.  This dynamite little shop, located at 202 West Alamo, always packs a punch with it’s creative offerings and assorted treasures ……antiques to  vintage to original jewelry & artwork designs.  They are open for business 7 days a week.

Round out your hunt for antiques in Brenham TX by stopping in at JR’s Antiques and Collectibles at 207 East Alamo Street.  Owner and shopkeeper, Glen Vierus has been collecting all his  life from  the time when he was but a boy.  His shop is like stepping back in time to Opas house with its’ antique furniture, glass, linens and collectibles.  This jam packed antique shop  is housed in what was one the original Candy Kitchen in downtown Brenham, a  true candy making shop in the early to mid 1900’s!

As you stroll  the streets of downtown, looking for that perfect antique treasure to take home  with you, you will  enjoy the historic buildings, architecture and variety of shops the imbue downtown Brenham with its’ magical  small town historical charm.  Should you work up an appetite searching for those perfect antiques in Brenham TX, there are several very good  restaurants from which to choose:  Volare Italian Restaurant, Smitty’s (country style fare), BT Longhorn Saloon Steakhouse (& seafood) Restaurant, YUMM! for paninis, pizza and wine, Funky Art Cafe (for a take off on seasonal, slow, local cuisine), 96 West (an upscale  Tapas & Wine restaurant) and more……

Now that we’ve whet your antique shopping appetite, reserve your room at our Brenham TX Bed and Breakfast and come on up for a few days!
