Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival = Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler = Let the Good Times Roll!!!  Conroe  is an easy drive from the  ranch and is a great day trip for guests.  Coming up is another fun Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival in downtown Conroe where great music, fun and delicious food is the name of the game!  The 26th Annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival  dates for 2015 are October 9, 10 and 11 and the roundup of fun and great music is getting bigger and better every year. This years Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival boasts a variety of events to choose from and ongoing throughout the three day music extravaganza.  In addition to the variety of great live music, there will also be professional carnival, street performers, kids zone, Catfish pageant, vintage car show, cajun food, and fireworks!

Last year some  of the great music you missed (if you didn’t attend it all) included Kevin Fowler, Wayne Toups, Shiny Ribs, Bayou Roux, Greg Martinez & The Delta Kings, Keyn & The Zydeco Masters, The 0.07  Blues Band, Ha Ha Tonka, Lincoln Durham, Jarrod Sterrett & The Hired Guns, Leroy Thomas, Sundance Head, Hon. For you car club fans, there is a new event this year:  a Pre-78 Car Show hosted by Hellions Car Club will be on Sunday, October 12 from noon – 6:00 pm.  For seasoned enthusiasts and collectors this event will be a great time to enjoy and to share with those who are just starting to appreciate vintage cars.

For families with kids there is a very special place called the  Small Fry Kid zone where there is non stop fun, rides, inflatables and performers from area dance and drama schools just for kids!    The carnival will be going on for four days:  Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  On Thursday and Friday, admittance to the carnival is FREE but on Saturday and Sunday , admission is  required.  The street performers will entertain not only the kids but adults too.  There will be mimes, jugglers, fire-eaters and more!

Don’t forget the  Mr. & Miss. Catfish Pageant  which will be on Sunday at 1:00pm.  With a Mardi Gras Theme, this event will prove to be lots of fun for you and the little ones!  You can download a form for all the rules and to participate by clicking here!

While enjoying great music or waiting on your favorite performer or band to take stage, you can grab a bite to eat or drink.  This would be a great place to just go eat, even if you weren’t interested in any of the other fun activities.  Some of the featured food vendors are Boiling Bugs Cajun Shack, Gumbo City, BeBe’s Crav’n Cajun, Lone Star Catering, LunchBag, Marble Slab and many more.  While catfish and Cajun are the focus foods, you can also find festival favorites like Funnel Cakes and Chicken-on-a-Stick to Gumbo, Boudain, and Red Beans & Rice.  Need to whet your whistle, you will  find  ice cold lemonade, soft drinks, beer and wines from the Go Texas Wine area available to quench your thirst.  Check out the menus by  clicking here.
