Smitty’s Cafe’ & Bakery, Brenham Texas

Knowing that we offer cooking class weekends and love really great food, our guests often ask what  restaurants in Brenham should they check  out.   Smitty’s Cafe’ & Bakery, with its’ diner style food &  located just a quick  5 minutes away from Murski Homestead is one of our recommendations.

Owner Callie Schmidt, originally from our area, offers a wide range of down home food with that hand-made touch,  making  all their dishes from scratch.  They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Not only are they a great homestyle restaurant but also a delicious bakery too!   Offering everything from  blueberry whole wheat pancakes on the breakfast menu to an assortment of appetizers including Fried Green Beans with Wasabi Ranch Sauce to Hot Wings & Nachos, a huge variety of specialty Burgers, Sandwiches & Salads, delicious entrees such as Chicken Fried Steak, Fish Tacos, Bubba’s Liver & Onions,  yummy sides like Sweet Potato Fries, Okra & Tomato Goulash & Fresh Buttered Broccoli, to delicious  cakes, pies and other great baked goods!  We think this restaurant is worth considering on your next trip to Brenhan!
