Time Travel at the Birthplace of Texas

January 18th, 2012 by Pamela Murski

On the weekend of January 28-29, learn how to “Make Every Barrington - sewing and visitorsStitch Count.” While today we can go to the store and buy ready-made clothing, men and women of the early frontier had to know, by necessity, how to sew and create handmade clothing, linens and even decorations. There will be many hands-on opportunities to observe and learn these various sewing and creating skills.

Also, on Saturday, January 28, learn about the history and symbolism of the many flags that have flown in Texas, with guest speaker and former TSSAR president Tom Green. Try your hand at putting a stitch into a re-creation of an early Texas flag.

For details and fees for these events, call (936) 878-2214 ext. 246, or visit Birthplace of Texas.
